NASA’S OSIRIS-REx Curation Group Exposes Staying Asteroid Sample
A top-down view of the OSIRIS-REx Touch-and-Go-Sample-Acquisition-Mechanism (TAGSAM) head with the cover eliminated, exposing the rest of the asteroid sample inside. Erika Blumenfeld, innovative lead for the Advanced Imaging and Visualization of Astromaterials (AIVA) and Joe Aebersold, job management lead, recorded this photo utilizing manual high-resolution accuracy photography and a semi-automated focus stacking treatment. The outcome is an image that can be focused on to reveal severe information of the sample. The staying sample product consists of dust and rocks as much as about.4 in (one cm) in size.
